I always say I am an introvert masking as an extrovert because I love quiet moments and close connections with people equally. Stacy has my heart, and my daughter Bravery is my world. I couldn’t imagine life without my girls, and I am so in love with them every second of the day. There is nothing greater than living your dreams while being supported by the people who love you most.

She doesn’t mind that 98% of my clothing is black, or that I sometimes change the subject when she suggests I wear a bolder color. Black is a color, right? People say I am confident yet humble, and I am driven by my passion to train my body and mind to take me where I want to go! Sometimes that place is the couch with my family or the pantry at all hours. Hah! I love music that is vibey, and I can’t fall asleep without rain sounds at night.

I run hard, especially if that means going the extra mile for a Dr Pepper! Obsessed, literally! My passion runs deep, and so does my love for people. Maybe that’s why I let Hugo win sometimes at board games, or why I am so obsessed with connection. I live for those spontaneous moments when we try something new and it just works.

He always says I sing in the car too loud, and that my love for alternative rock music drives him crazy but I’m totally that windows down, me in the driver's seat kinda girl. I’m that girl who is completely determined; that driven, passionate, red lips, focused, eats WAY too many mini-chocolate donuts (but they're mini riiiight?) kinda girl who runs after my dreams while inviting the people around me to reach theirs too.

Today, we teach, perform, judge, and choreograph internationally while growing our community at District Dance Academy. We share West Coast Swing through our online tutorial library and have co-directed Floorplay Swing Vacation with April Prince since 2023. Wherever dance takes us, family, connection, and helping dancers grow remain at the heart of our story.

Our story began on a dance cruise in 2012. A year later, Stacy moved to Florida, and we began building a life around the dance we love. In 2018, we opened District Dance Academy. Hugo proposed in 2020, adding another chapter to our partnership on and off the floor. We inspire each other, grow together, and find joy in the everyday moments with our family.
